We currently have 3 local job opportunities ; Youth & Play Worker, Youth & Play Assistant and a new Site Safety & Maintenance Officer.

Youth & Play worker:

Your Role:
  • To facilitate and support young people’s self-directed play.
  • To introduce ideas and activities and support children’s initiatives that help to create a challenging, stimulating and rich play environment.
  • To be responsive to a range of play types, behaviours and experiences and allow young people control and autonomy over the content and intent of their play; whilst facilitating positive behaviour.
Salary:

£10.50 p/h

Contract:

Zero Hours, available shifts are: 

Term time:
  • PLAY = 3pm-6.30pm Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • YOUTH = Tuesdays 7pm-9pm / Wednesdays 4.30pm-6.30pm
School Holidays:
  • PLAY = 10am-2pm Monday-Friday
  • YOUTH = 3-4.30 Tuesdays&Wednesdays 

(Preference will be given to candidates who can work multiple shifts a week as well as during school holidays)

Youth& Play Assistant

Your Role:
  • To facilitate and support young people’s self-directed play.
  • To support the team to create a warm, welcoming and inclusive play environment where children and young people feel valued.
  • To collaborate with other staff and volunteers in the planning and running of sessions so that the playground offers a broad range of play and activities.
Salary:

National Minimum wage

Contract:

Zero Hours, available shifts are: 

Term time:
  • PLAY = 3pm-6.30pm Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • YOUTH = Tuesdays 7pm-9pm / Wednesdays 4.30pm-6.30pm
School Holidays:
  • PLAY = 10am-2pm Monday-Friday

Site Safety & Maintenance Officer

Your Role:
  • Conducting weekly safety checks of the adventure playground and community centre, to monitor, report and record damage and to ensure any repairs are undertaken quickly.
  • Addressing reports of damage or defects raised by service users, staff and hirers and liaise with external contractors as required.
  • Maintaining administrative records relating to the role which includes weekly, quarterly and annual playground inspections.
  • Supporting the Centre Managers to co-design new playground developments with children and young people in Lockleaze.
Salary:

£21,000 FTE (£16,800 pro rata 0.8 FTE)

Contract:

Fixed Term Contract until March 2023 (extension subject to funding)
