We’re for the community and that means supporting and enabling local businesses. Did you know that The Vench has a range of work spaces available to hire at a fraction of standard business rates? All rooms are situated on the ground floor and are fully accessible, include WIFI and come with access to a large kitchen with free tea and coffee making facilities. Catering can be arranged to suit your requirements. Various other services such as printing and photocopying are also available. Concessionary rates are available for charities and not-for-profit organisations.

Looking for an exciting and fulfilling corporate away day or team building experience that supports people and the planet? Look no further!
Situated on the edge of the beautiful Stoke Park, our youth and community centre is surrounded by green and open space. The Vench is an important and much-loved community landmark, serving young people and families in Lockleaze and the surrounding areas. As well as its impressive adventure playground, it also has its own kitchen garden where we grow our own flowers and vegetables, a firm favourite of some of our regular families.

Large Meeting Room
A light and spacious room ideally suited for workshops, classes, meetings and courses. Can comfortably seat up to 25 people. A projector and screen, flip cart, paper and pens can be provided free of charge upon request.

“We used the large meeting room for our UX mapping workshop for our business’ new website. The space was ideal for breaking off and working in smaller groups, was lovely and light and the catering was excellent.”
Cafe Space
This open-plan space is adjacent to the kitchen and is ideal for community gatherings and food events and courses.

“We hosted our eat and meet gathering for older people at The Vench and it was the perfect set-up! The kitchen and serving hatch were ideal for assembling the food and we spent an enjoyable evening talking, enjoying food and playing games.”
art room
The art room is available to hire and is ideal for the delivery of small arts and craft workshops. A flexible space for all ages to express their creative potential.

“I ran my art therapy course for adults from The Vench. The art room was big enough for each person to have space to work individually but small enough to feel like a personalised experience and suited the group really well. It was lovely to be able to pop out into the secluded kitchen garden for tea and coffee breaks.”
Small Meeting room
This space is ideal for one-to-one meetings or small groups and can comfortably seat up to 20 people.

Large Kitchen
We have a large and fully equipped kitchen suitable for catering events and cooking workshops. Facilities include: an electric 5-ring hob and 2-door oven, microwave, 2 sinks, full range of cookware and utensils, crockery and cutlery, and a serving hatch.

We have two office spaces available
Tenants benefit from access to the centre 24/7, as well as use of our café area, kitchen and garden. The building is fully accessible for wheelchair users.

The Vench is run by Groundwork South, the community regeneration and environmental charity whose work focuses on creating better places, improving people’s prospects and promoting greener living and working.
We offer a range of activities and projects to choose from, offering your team the opportunity to develop skills, learn from their colleagues and their surroundings and most importantly, have fun! Choose from build projects, such as constructing an outdoor pizza oven, building raised flower beds and developing outdoor communal facilities, gardening and landscaping projects, such as planting natural habitats and maintaining the adventure playground, and much more!
As the only local centre in Lockleaze, it is vital we can continue to provide a safe and secure environment in which children and young people can grow, develop, and play, supported by experienced staff. Without this safe space away from the streets, there is a high risk of young people turning to crime and violence (just one of the problems in the area that we’re working hard to address). With your company’s support, we can ensure The Vench is a vibrant and nurturing space that engages young people and brings together the wider community.
